Marriage Counseling

Our family was looking for a Christian based Counselor and we hit the jackpot! Dr. Fabing worked with our children and with my wife and me to improve our parent/child relationships. It was very encouraging to see God in the midst of the work we did with Dr. Fabing.

May God Bless Bridge of Hope.

Tim Azinger

If you want someone to merely agree with or appease you, waste your money elsewhere. Do you want real healing? Dr. Fabing is the one you want. After throwing money away at other places, I found Dr. Fabing. There will be homework. The results are entirely worth it. Invest in yourself or your loved ones. You don’t have to live with P.T.S.D permanently

Stephanie Brewer, December 2023

I first saw Dr. Fabing on 6/11/2009. I was struggling with abandonment and self-esteem issues. Dr. Fabing quickly got to the root of the problem. Other so-called Christian counselors did not get to the root.

I began to see my emotions were wrong due to automatic thinking. I was not focused on my recovery but on others’ thoughts. I received the healing I so desperately longed for. Dr. Fabing’s compassion, wisdom, and ability to see the real need allowed him to encourage me to embrace the pain. As I embraced the pain I grew stronger, instead of living in denial and hiding. Now I use everything he has taught me to help others in their recovery.

Jerry Jensen, Leader of Restoration Pointe Recovery

I recommend contacting Bridge of Hope for counseling services. Dr. Fabing does the initial clinical assessments and he is more than qualified to guide you. Also attending Bridge of Hope conferences will encourage you, are eye-opening, and there is much to learn. We all need improvement in our daily life which is counseling and we all can be encouraged by attending any Bridge of Hope conference.

Deborah Lee

My intake with Bridge of Hope was in March 2006. I’ve been to many therapists and I always remember what Dr. Fabing taught me. I have had multiple breakthroughs and am focusing on the present moments. My worth has skyrocketed with Jesus. I have healing and the goodness of God.

Kimberly Madonna, Called to Ministry

Ever since attending Bridge of Hope, I have improved my confidence, self awareness of my emotions and tendencies and most importantly my faith. I have already recommended a few people here and anyone on the fence about attending needs to take that step. Dr. Fabing’s methods simply work. There’s always new improvements that I see in my everyday life that would not have happened if not for Bridge of Hope.

Personal Therapy

Counseling We Offer:

  • Personal Counseling (Any age, for anything)

  • Parenting Counseling (Creating an environment that is conducive to healthy child development)

  • Marital Counseling (Help with navigating through challenges)

  • Premarital Counseling (Preparing a solid foundation, and gaining readiness for future hindrances)

  • Relationship Counseling (Help with character qualities conducive to healthy interaction)

  • Trauma / PTSD / Grief Counseling (Help to overcome feelings associated with them.)

Methodology:

Our counseling methods focus on the whole being of the person, that is, their spirit, mind, will, emotion, and body. We use a detailed temperament profile which identifies specific information needed to guide and treat the person for the desired results. This analysis allows our staff to find the behavioral tendencies that led to the problems in the person’s life. These behavioral tendencies when reversed are the solution that can correct those problems in the person’s life. The profile and individualized treatment plan applied between sessions given to the person work hand in hand to give hope and healing in a timely manner.

What you can expect with Bridge of Hope counseling:

  • We determine the personality traits and behavioral tendencies of each person.

  • Homework applied between sessions keeps the person connected to the process and moving along quickly toward hope, healing and a better life.
  • Persons who are experiencing Trauma, PTSD, or Grief may receive EMDR, Tapping, or Play Therapy.
  • The person receives training to use Self-Regulate Techniques for anxiety, depression and feelings of being out of control which they can use anytime.
  • For persons feeling stuck and in survival mode Goal Setting is used to create movement in client’s life so they can function at a higher level.
  • Our methods identify Triggers and Root Issues that are in the person’s life and apply treatments designed to fully help the person recover and overcome their struggles.
  • We analyze your Emotional health to find vulnerable areas and help the person become a whole again.

Sensory Learning

What is Sensory Learning?

We live in a world that is overstimulated, hypervigilant, and distracted. Children, especially, cannot keep up with what is expected. In general, children have too many demands to process. Adults generally are not paying attention to children because they are distracted or preoccupied with their stuff. Adults often expect children to process what they are incapable of processing.

Existence is about our senses and how they function. This relates to sensory learning issues. Sensory learning issues include Executive Functioning, where all functioning issues start. This refers to planning, organizing, strategizing, memory, goal setting, cooperation, and self-regulation.

What We do to help:

  • We use play therapy, tapping, grounding techniques, and EMDR related to need

  • We find root issues and train the parent/guardian on self-regulation

  • We do a client’s personality profile, homework, and trauma work

  • We provide training to help improve daily functioning for each individual’s needs regardless of age.

Trauma/PTSD/Grief

Attachment is the next-door neighbor to intimacy. The thing we all crave most. Attachment is an overarching system that explains the principles, the rules, and the emotions of relationships – how they work and how they don’t, how we feel when we’re with the ones we love the most. Attachment occurs beginning at conception and is of great significance, especially in the early years of life. You either get it or you don’t.

Have you felt abandoned, not cared for, neglected, or not listened to as a child? These are forms of abuse when a person is not nurtured by the ones who are supposed to nurture them. The effects of this are rejection, unforgiveness, bitterness, and deep traumatic wounds. Outcomes are trauma, PTSD, and grief issues. Approximately 80% of people have some of these issues unresolved.

We live in a society that believes if we are breathing and look okay, we are fine. When asked, “How are you?”, we even say, “I’m fine.” In my 50 plus years of counseling, I find that most marital issues, including divorce, can be traced back to attachment issues of one or both persons. How about your relationship with your boss, fellow workers, friends, or the clerk? Why are you so puffed up, defensive, and always have to be right? Is the issue eternal? Often at a marriage intake session, I will say, “I’ve noticed, by what you wrote, there were some traumatic issues before you knew each other. So, in general, this has nothing to do with your marriage and not getting along.” Then the client is relieved and we focus on healing from past
trauma.

When we do a Personality Profile (temperament), we can inform the client(s) about themselves and their spouse’s traits. Then, they can better interact psychologically and emotionally in new ways. The world points fingers, blames, and shames. God points to the individual to change their thinking (cognitive distortions) and how we feel (understanding our emotions). God always does the opposite of the world’s ways.

Bridge of Hope Ministries offers insight and courage to change. Our counseling can give you what you need for processing. Our ministry has over a 90% success rate because we get to the root issues by a personality profile, homework (client connected to the process), and trauma
work regardless of the issue(s). Talk therapy often does not get to root issues. This is the approach most counselors use. We do modalities of tapping, EMDR, and play therapy to elicit hidden stuck points. Trauma, PTSD, and grief create pressure in ones existence. This could be one instance or multiple instances in a few years time.
